Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: KWE workshops are open and operating safely!

– 05/01/2021

KWE is operating normally during lockdown, though some office staff may be working from home. We welcome all inquiries, and can carry out Condition Assessments and all other restoration work as normal.
Our internal Covid precautions are robust and continuously under review.

– 05/11/2020

KWE will continue to operate normally under lockdown and we are very much open for business. We observe correct Covid-related procedures internally and customers are still welcome to drop off and collect cars, in a similar way to ordinary garages and MoT stations.

Firstly we hope that you and your families are safe and healthy at this time.

We have now received some positive news from our suppliers and we will be re-opening our workshop again on 4th May, 2020.  Initially our workshop will be operating with reduced staffing levels, putting our new safety procedures and processes in place, allowing us to trade safely during these difficult times.

We will begin a programme to re-introduce furloughed staff as we re-build our trade network, and as the industry begins its period of recovery.

We can receive customers cars for servicing, assessments and restoration works via drop-off service or we can arrange contact-free collection and delivery throughout the UK.

We will be in a position to allow customers to safely visit our branches via either a drop-off service (maintaining safe distancing), and On-line forms will be accessible via our website www.kwecars.com to select your service and preferred date and drop-off/collection method.

As always, you can also call or email to arrange your booking and enquire about our services.

We thank you, and all our customers for your patience and understanding during our closure and look forward to welcoming the return of your business.

Kind regards. Knowles-Wilkins Engineering.

To protect our NHS, staff and customers, KWE workshop operations will cease today at 5pm and will be furloughing its technicians until the current virus-related problems are resolved. This means we will not be able to carry on works to our customer’s cars as from Monday 30th March, we will resume these services when we are advised by the government that it is safe to do so. Naturally we are very regretful this decision had to be made, and we are thankful for our clients’ support so far.

Our sales and office work will continue however, though we will be working from our homes. We now have full connection with all the company’s facilities via a secured private network so feel free to make whatever inquiries you wish. The best way to contact KWE is via our contact us page form.

I wish you and your families a safe and healthy transition through this period, and look forward to KWE leaping back into action as soon as we can!

Since the new restrictions were put in place last night we kindly ask customers not to visit KWE at this time. We are only taking essential deliveries and considering one-on-one meetings where absolutely essential, however most of our contact is already carried out via the internet. Please contact us ([email protected]) if you have any questions regarding your car or would like to inquire about the continuation of our services.

We have taken extra measures to ensure the safety of our staff on top of the previous measures put in place. Staff will be isolated to their own workshop where a safe distance can be kept at all times, this is monitored to ensure the work we do can continue with minimal risk. Where possible office staff will be working from home or separate offices, again always being at a safe distance with no more than two people in a room at one time.

We hope you are all keeping well and hope to see your Jaguar soon!

Knowles-Wilkins Engineering is committed to ensuring the health & safety of all our employees and customers. To this end, we have created a policy that sets out the steps we will be taking at our premises in order to tackle the outbreak.

INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES

We strongly encourage all customers to follow these guidelines from the World Health Organisation on infection control, both whilst at work, and in their daily lives.

This includes:

  • Frequently cleaning their hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing, covering mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue, throwing this tissue away immediately and washing their hands.
  • Avoiding close contact with anyone who has a fever and cough.
  • Taking and recording temperature readings of each staff member twice a day.
  • Sterilising door handles, light switches etc frequently throughout the day.

When a customer visits KWE:

  • We will ask you to keep a distance of a minimum of 2 metres away.
  • We will ensure that all staff are frequently cleaning their hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • We will ensure that all staff when coughing and sneezing, are covering mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue, throwing this tissue away immediately and washing their hands.
  • When having to move your vehicle a seat cover, floor mat and fresh gloves are used each time.
  • Any areas or equipment that require customer use e.g. card payment machines are cleaned between uses.

IF YOU DEVELOP SYMPTOMS

If you begin to display symptoms of the virus, you must follow government guidance to find out what to do next. You should not visit KWE.

PERIODS OF SELF-ISOLATION

The Government is currently advising people to self-isolate in certain situations, which means staying at home and not having contact with other people. In the event that this applies to you, you must not attend KWE during the isolation period.

We are still very much open and we have no intentions of closing unless the government issues a full lockdown.

We have put processes in place to help make your visits to KWE involve as little contact as possible, such as remote collections and deliveries of customer vehicles for inspection, maintenance and restoration.

Further information on this is available by giving us a call on 01635 30030.

Keep safe and we hope to see your Jaguar soon!

Best regards,

Chris Knowles, MD – Knowles-Wilkins Engineering
